Why does Linda’s Story Matters?
Linda’s story is important because it highlights the power of perseverance and determination, especially in the face of adversity. As a child of immigrants and a teen mom, Linda faced numerous challenges, including getting laid off from Netflix. However, instead of giving up, she turned to creating content and honing her perspective through a YouTube channel and podcast. Her journey of shifting her money mindset and creating a community of Latinx investors on Patreon and Instagram is an inspiration to anyone who wants to achieve financial success and empowerment.
Linda is the author of the book “Wealth Warrior: 8 Steps for Communities of Color to Conquer the Stock Market.” She created her first stock market course for beginners in 2020, drawing on 10 years of her own experience learning about the stock market. She founded the In Luz We Trust™️ community on Patreon and Instagram, a rapidly growing resource for Latinx investors looking to build wealth.
Takeaways from Linda:
Linda’s practical tips for achieving financial success and empowerment include shifting your money mindset, focusing on your strengths and passions, and surrounding yourself with a supportive community. She emphasizes the importance of taking small steps and being consistent in your efforts to achieve your goals.
“When I got laid off, I really thought about what I wanted…I’ve always wanted to create content, I had always wanted to start a YouTube channel. So I just went for it.”
“Financial literacy is everything in the same way that money is everything we should look at understanding money has everything. And when I say money has everything I am talking about, you need it to eat. You need it to have a roof over your head. You need it to get from one place to another, you need it for every thing, right?”
“Money wounds in my community is really truly understanding your own personal story, because it does not matter how much financial literacy we ingest, if we continue to believe that wealthy people are greedy, if we continue to hate rich people, if we continue to, you know, hate money overall, then unfortunately, we’re never going to be able to amass money ever.”
